Emcoop to sell 140 commodities with lower prices in Ramadan

The Emirates Cooperative Society is holding a promotion campaign to sell 140 basic items with less lower prices during the Holy Month of Ramadan as per instructions from the Ministry of Economy. Farid Al Shamandi Ali, director general, Emirates Cooperative Society, stressed that the society was keen to take part in the campaign, adding that the price reductions include basic food items in Ramadan, such as rice, oil, frozen chicken, fresh meet, vegetable and fruits, cheese, sugar, flour, dry milk, canned food and other consumptive materials such as foil, dishes, plastic, electronic equipment and domestic utensils.

He added that the society has provided wholesale Ramadan basket at cost of Dh225- in includes 20kg of Pakistani rice, 10kg of flour, 10kg of sugar, 1.8 litre of oil and 2kg of lentil. Al Shamandi said the society has coordinated with some cooperative societies to issue Ramadan food rationing coupons and smart cards.

He added that it has been coordinated with the Ministry of Social Affairs to support the project of productive Emirati families through preparing special place with traditional style to sell tradition food.
